NOT back to school
Can I just say how ecstatic I am that my kids do NOT go back to school in 2 weeks? It's still summer, it's still a million degrees out, and schools here go back either 1 or 2 weeks from tomorrow. There have been back-to-school sales for the last month or more. The lists of what to buy have been out forever. The ads in the paper show sweatshirts and uniforms. And my kids still get to go to the pool, jump on the trampoline and learn at will.

I feel the same way! I love that we get to take advantage of some of the back to school sales to stock up on art supplies and such, but not having to follow a pre-decided list handed out by the teacher is awesome. I pity Moms that are frantically trying to get things together. Our kids don't have to sport the latest fashions. They can wear clothes that they have worn for a year or two already. Isn't it lovely to be able to be cheap? My nieces in AZ started high school last Thursday. WTH?! I also love that when other kids are back in school, we get the parks, pools, museums, etc., to ourselves. I'm a bit snobbish that way.
